Upgrading issues, vintage fur
Hi everyone,
Sorry for the long delay in posting. It’s upgrade time and I’m trying to work the bugs out at my main site before upgrading this one. I believe I’ll wait until Wordpress 2.1 gets all the kinks worked out before doing anything over here.
In any case, First Post Street Seen section features…(clutch the pearls)…FUR!
I can see Pamela Anderson’s boobs shaking in horror now. Frightening thought.

You could argue that vintage fur is more ethically sound than the fake variety. After all it’s recycled, hasn’t used up any fresh resources, and the animal in question has long since gone to the hunting grounds of its fathers. That’s the line these girls are taking anyway, and jolly nice they look too.
Yep, some of them in the pictorial do. Others look like they’ve been humped by something. But, I sympathize with the “vintage fur” argument because, yes, I own a “vintage fur.”

I’m late to the party with this one but one of my fashonista faves is on the web. Check out Constance White over at eBay where she’s the style director. White is a 15-year fashion journalism veteran who has worked for Elle, WWD and The New York Times.
P. Diddy plucks pooches: Oh my. P. Diddy is in trouble with some animal lovers. The Human Society of the United States says that range of jackets from Diddy’s Sean Jean line that were advertised as being lined with fake fur were actually lined with real fur from a “canine species.”
According to tests conducted by The HSUS, the jacket actually contained fur from a canine species known as “raccoon dog,” Allhiphop.com reported.
Other fashion houses were also found to be peddling pooch pelts as fake fur including Calvin Klein, MaxMara and BabyPhat.
Baltic style: Cafebabel has an interesting story about a stylist in Lithuania who seems set to make her break into Western fashion. Fabu article, but no pics of the fashions!
And one of the best online shops in Europe, asos.com is having a sale of up to 75 percent off some items. It would behoove you to move quickly; a lot of styles sell out.

The Rashonista Store, Iqons
Something new in the pages section at the bottom of your screen: The Rashonista Store. I’m loading it up with all of the fashion-related titles I have on my bookshelf plus a few more. I’ll review quite a few of these on the site within the next few months.
Also, check out my page on Iqons, the fashion industry’s answer to myspace (bleech). It was co-founded by fashion blogger Diane Pernet who I saw at the Stella Awards but couldn’t get close enough to touch the hem of her garment.
