Kimora Lee Simmons: Baby Phat and KLS

Kimora Lee Simmons is branching out yet again. The entre-paid-neur told WWD that she’s about to launch a high-end ladies sportswear line this fall called KLS:

“‘She’s a lady, more grown up and mature; she has a job and just wants to look fabulous wherever she goes,’ Simmons explained of the KLS customer.”

According to the article, the KLS line will be “anything but basic” and feature tailored jackets, trench coats with gold buttons, gold-trimmed jeans and wool fishtail skirts.

Sounds sort of like a cross between Prince and House of Dereon, not that there’s anything wrong with that. Prices will range from US$67-300.

Simmons featured pieces of the new collection in the Baby Phat Fall 2007 show at Mercedes New York Fashion Week going on now.

The first KLS line will be made available to store buyers later this month.

Simmons will continue with Baby Phat line, which is part of Simmons fashion dynasty that includes cosmetics, perfume and children’s clothing.
